Ronald Koeman is planning a summer move for 29-year-old Marseille striker Andre-Pierre Gignac, according to the Daily Mirror.
The France international is out of contract at the end of the season and is set to be available on a free transfer.
However, the paper also claims that Saints would face competition from West Ham and Everton for Gignac, who has scored 14 goals this season.
Meanwhile, the Mirror also say that Saints' striker Dani Osvaldo will become the highest paid player in Argentina by joining Boca Juniors on loan.
