REVIEW: Neil Duncan at the Reading Festival

ATTENDANCE at one previous festival does not make me a veteran, but I headed to Reading this year, not as a festival-virgin, but with certain realistic expectations and knowledge about the lie of the land.

IT hadn't stopped raining all day and I was held up in traffic and so reached the venue late - however, as I stepped in the door, I realised that I had really 'arrived' in more ways than one.Reader comments (2)

IT WAS a wet miserable evening to be winding along the A339 to Newbury, but I was just one of a number of Basingstokies looking to check out the talent in a neighbouring town.

REVIEW: Live music at The Star, Guildford
10:30am Wed 11 Jun 08
WITH two of the billed bands having recently played Basingstoke, I felt duty bound to head for The Star in Guildford to check out whether they really were as good as I originally thought. There was a rather meagre crowd, unusual for a Saturday night, but those of us who were there anticipated having a great time.

THE Light Lounge was even more packed than usual when I arrived, on account of this being something of an experimental 'all ages' show. The bulk of the younger clientele were there to see the first band up, coming from Tadley and called Mundane Mondays.

Stamp Out Prejudice Hatred Intolerance Everywhere (S.O.P.H.I.E.) seeks to commemorate Sophie's short life by highlighting and eradicating mindless violence from society as far as it is possible.
