Should have got us to the FA cup final if his heart was really with the club at the time.

I actually wish him well. He got us playing the best football I can remember and look forward to seeing what he can do with Spurs.

But you know what? He wasn't perfect. There was a massive gap between the amount of possession we had and the chances we created. I don't think it's impossible to imagine a new manager coming in and doing better.

We're in a similar position to Swansea when Rodgers left. They got in Laudrup and signed Michu and became even better. There's no reason to believe we can't do the same.

Spurs have got just as much a chance as we have to get to the champions league. Unless another club suddenly gets another oil tycoon and pumps a billion quid in, it will always be the mancs, scousers, and the gunners and chelsea who will occupy the top 6 spots. We would need a few new players to get there and to stay there, but they will just go and buy a few more better players and overtake us. Plus they have a more of a financial standing and a bigger overdraft limit.
I am sorry if this lacks confidence or lacks the belief that we can do it, but just look at the past 20 seasons, same old teams at the top.
I would like some answers, but sadly, i dont think they will come. I want a new manager to come in and have some of the similarities that poch had, e.g the togetherness of the squad, the work and team ethic that said we will work our socks off for the manager and our team mates. But i also want a manager that is not so one dimensional, we never seemed to have a plan of action against teams who sat back and then pumped the ball up field. A manager that can turn possession into goals!!! Above all one that respects the fact that the youth setup can produce quality players and how to integrate them into our starting 11.
I am asking a lot, but i just want what is best for my beloved saints.

Ralph is a much smarter cookie than people are giving him credit for.
agree with nearly everything you aid stret, some of the racist comments on here are a disgrace and the echo really should do something about it without waiting for us to report them!
I cant agree with wishing him well though. he spun out saints with the `wait until the end of season rubbish` whilst stating that he was an honest man who must honour his contract. what did he mean by that? was he just saying that he wanted out but wouldn't pay the £2mill out of his own pocket and was waiting for another club to pay it for him? he jumped ship at the first chance and for those reasons I hope he fails and levy does what comes natural to him. by all accounts he was offered a very nice contract to stay but decided he didn't want to, that's fine its his choice. It just churns my stomach that he has gone to spuds, anywhere but spuds! they nick our song, they nick any manager that does ok here, they nicked deano (rip) and they tried to nick LeGod. once spuds get rid of him (and it wont be long, would he have survived the drop of form we had there?) I hope he finds another club and does ok, but not whilst hes there.
as for his statement, I bet that was something knocked up by the office junior at his agents and all he would have done is proof read it!

There's no reason to believe we can't do the same.[/p]
Good post. V good analogy with Swansea.[/p]
Thank you, George. On days like these fans are understandably emotional but tend to come out with comments that look a bit daft a few months down the line. Funnily enough, the last such time was the day Poch was appointed. I think everyone just needs to chill out a bit and see what happens. Has no one else not noticed that there was no parting thank you from Southampton for what he has done for the club. Makes you wonder what actually went on behind closed doors. We do not need to sell our prize assets in fact you need to speculate to accumulate that's pure economics.

The kings is dead. Long live the king.

The man, by reneging on his contract, has lost his credibility. As Nigel would say - The man in the glass. One day Poch will hear that poem and he'll understand what Adkins was saying. I expect the millions in his bank account will mean more than the shattered dreams of thousands of expectant fans to him but deep down he will know that what is looking back at him is someone who cannot be trusted or relied on after giving his word to see it to the end. Levy and Pochettino are a divorce made in heaven. Looking forward to greeting his replacement whoever he is.
