What a privilege it was to stand alongside the real supporters of Southampton Football Club after the game against Stoke on Saturday, April 27.

Those fans made time to stay behind in the rain and applaud, chant and sing their hearts out to our players, manager and families in recognition of what has been an amazing season.

When we finally left the stadium, every single person we spoke to said how appalled they were at the people who walked out at the end of our game and who couldn't even be bothered to acknowledge their own football team. What an unkind way to treat our players!

Have the memories been forgotten of all those celebrations at the end of our games that we had, especially away games?

Remember that record-breaking run of 25 games in a row without losing! All that hard work the players put in! Has that memory gone as well?

So we lost some games, it's football, it happens to everyone but we also won 25, drew 9 and we're in the play-offs!

If we get to Wembley, those people will be the first to grab tickets, without a thought for whose hard work got us there in the first place!

Thank goodness for our proper fans who loudly showed our team how much they are appreciated by us.

We are as proud of you as we are of the whole of Southampton Football Club and that for us will never change!
