Norwich boss focused on performance

Norwich manager Chris Hughton admits relegation will continue to be a concern unless his team can start producing more positive results.
The Canaries arrive at St Mary’s tomorrow in 15th position, four points above the drop zone, and having won just one of their last seven league games.
Four victories would take them past the 40-point mark, but Hughton is not focusing on a particular figure.
“We don’t know what points (tally) it will take,” he said. “The inconsistencies of ourselves and the group of teams around us, I’m not sure anybody at this moment can predict what points it will take.
“We just need to make sure we get the points that we need to make this division more comfortable for ourselves.
“You have to be confident in your abilities and the abilities of the team.
“Are we capable of putting results together that will make life a bit more comfortable for ourselves? Yes, we are, but we have to go and do it.
“There’s always that area of concern, because you don’t want to be drawn into it and we have to make sure that we’re not.”
Hughton added: “Southampton have had a very good season, but we want to put ourselves in a position where we can creep away from where we are at the moment, and the only way we can do is through performances and more so, results.”
