Sam Gallagher looks set to jettison Scotland after being named as one of four Saints youngsters in the England under-19s squad.

The 18-year-old striker, who joined from Plymouth two years ago, has played three times for the Scotland under-19 side, scoring one goal.

However, Gallagher, who is English born and grew up in Exeter, now appears to have changed his allegiance to England after a first team emergence that has seen him score for Saints in the FA Cup and start a high profile Premier League game against Arsenal.

It is the same route that has been taken by another Saints youngster, Matt Targett, who is also in the latest squad having also previously represented Scotland before switching to England.

Both players are hoping manager Noel Blake will give them a chance to shine as England take on Turkey in Chester a week tomorrow.

Harrison Reed has also been named in the England under-19s squad for the first time while Calum Chambers is expected to captain the side once again.

CONGRATULATIONS to all 4 players.Good to see Sam given a runout on Saturday.Would liked to have seen either Harry Reed or McQueen on the bench on Saturday instead of Guly..Surely MO PO must realise that DO PRADO isn't good enough for premiership football.
Next Saturday our midfield will face a battle royal against the scousers.I would like to see Harry Reed involve. For a youngster he has great passing ability. He keps it simple and helps keep the moves flowing.Shades of ex Saint and England great ALAN BALL.Whoever is pickieed though I expect SAINTS to shade it in a match which promises to be a hummdinger.

Wouldn't his Dad have been proud to have seen his son play for England...good luck to you Sam go and make us all proud, or I should say even more proud that so many talented Saints players are getting their due recognition!
