  • Jason Puncheon signs for Crystal Palace for fee believed to be £1.75m
  • Window shuts at 11pm

11:07pm

Thanks very much for joining us over the course of the day.

This blog started at just gone 8am this morning and has run right through.

Hopefully it has kept you up to date with things as they happened, which were exactly what was predicted in the Daily Echo this week.

Don't forget to log back on tomorrow lunchtime as we bring you updates from Saints' game against Fulham at Craven Cottage.

But for now goodnight, sleep tight and don't dream about last minute signings.

11:04pm

The major news for Saints, which is after all what we care about, is that Dani Osvaldo has joined Juventus on loan until the end of the season with the Italian club picking up his estimated £50,000 a week wages.

They have an option to buy him for €19 million, payable over three years, which they can exercise by May 31.

Jason Puncheon has also left the club on a permanent deal to Crystal Palace for a fee in the region of £1.75m.

There have been no signings during the January transfer window at St Mary's.

11:02pm

Expect some deals to still be announced.

Liverpool have been trying to tie up a major signing, Tom Ince still hasn't gone anywhere despite a tour of the country with his dad and Fulham and Crystal Palace were working on multiple deals.

All should become clear in the next few hours and in the morning as things get processed and formally announced.

11:01pm

What bliss to be sitting here at the end of the window and not in the least worried that someone is going to buy our best players. And Southampton sent an international striker out on loan to Juventus. Don't wake me up.

10:31pm

Half an hour left. Thank goodness for that

10:31pm

Johnny Heitinga has joined Fulham but far too late to figure against Saints tomorrow

10:25pm

Marvin Emnes has joined Swansea on loan from Middlesbrough...blimey it's a slow day

My brother's mate knows somebody who works at Southampton Airport and saw Carlos Tevez fly in earlier today. Well, he thought it was Carlos Tevez. Well, he hoped it was Carlos Tevez. Actually he wasn't working today. And he doesn't work at Southampton Airport. Or even knows where it is. In fact, he doesn't even exist. I don't even have a brother

Arsenal have signed Arsenal Sweden midfielder Kim Kallstrom on loan from Spartak Moscow for the rest of the season

6:58pm

6:56pm

For the sake of clarity, a few details regarding the Osvaldo move.

Saints are not getting a loan fee while Osvaldo is gone, but Juventus are funding his wages, believed to be about £50,000 a week.

It would appear that Italian media talk of a wage cut is probably wide of the mark.

6:50pm

That's it from Saints. Puncheon and Osvaldo out on deadline day and the club are now closed for business.

6:23pm

Juventus have confirmed the terms of their option to buy Osvaldo. It sounds like a good deal for Saints who paid an inital €15m for him last summer.

The contract also provides the option for Juventus to exercise, by May 31, 2014, the right of option for the definitive acquisition of the football player at a price of € 19 million, payable in three years.

There's a rumour going around Twitter today linking Adam Lallana with a move to Borussia Dortmund (the football hipster's team of choice, before they got too mainstream and reached the Champions League final last year).

Just so you know, it would appear the rumour started on Twitter three days ago by a user with very few tweets to his name who since posting the rumour has done nothing but retweet people mentioning that "they are hearing" the rumour - including a national journalist.

Just so you know.

4:17pm

Sunderland head coach Gus Poyet has confirmed Lee Cattermole, below, could yet leave the club ahead of the transfer deadline.

Poyet revealed the Black Cats have received a second, improved bid for the midfielder, who has been linked with Stoke for several days.

David Moyes has delivered his less than enthusastic verdict on the final day of the transfer window and its associated rumour mill.
"I am surprised so many people believe so much of it," he said.

"I am a football fan. But I hear people picking up stories that we are after certain players when it is a load of rubbish.

NO wonder Juventus are so keen to bring Dani Osvaldo back to Italy.
Last season he was the joint third highest scorer in Serie A with 16 goals for Roma in just 29 appearances.
The only two men to score more were Napoli’s Edinson Cavani (29) and Udinese’s Antonio Di Natale (23).

Basingstoke Gazette: Juventus are interessted in signing Southampton's Dani Osvaldo.

2:56pm

Dani Osvaldo will link up with Carlos Tevez as and when he joins Juventus. That will make for an interesting combination!

Tevez is Juve's top scorer in Serie A this season with 11 goals, though Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal is the club's overall leading marksman with 15 in all competitions.

Basingstoke Gazette: Carlos Tevez has been at the heart of West Ham's season on and off the pitch

Tevez, above, has failed to score in his six Champions League matches this season.

Juve can also call on Spanish striker Fernando Llorente, who has 11 league and cup goals this season including five in his last five Serie A outings.

2:42pm

Fulham, tomorrow's opponents for Saints, have had a bid £12m accepted by Olympiakos for striker Konstantinos Mitroglou.

His representatives are currently talking to Fulham about a possible move, although West Ham are also interested in the forward.

Tim Sherwood says there is a "zero per cent" chance of Tottenham signing any new players before the transfer window shuts.

Spurs have been linked with Dimitar Berbatov, below, Nani and Yevhen Konoplyanka this month.

Chairman Daniel Levy is renowned for his love of an 11th-hour deal, but Sherwood ruled out the possibility of any late incomings at White Hart Lane.

When asked what percentage he would put on Spurs signing anyone before tonight's deadline of 2300, the Tottenham manager said: "Zero."

David Connolly isn't the only former Saints player on the move today - defender Joseph Mills has left Burnley to go on to to League 1 club Shrewsbury. For me the most telling comment has been that Osvaldo has taken a massive pay cut to go to Juve.
It makes me think he only came here for the money.
A disappointing saga throughout and it gives ammunition to those who said he only came because we were the only ones who would take a chance on him. This might be borne out by the fact that Juve have got him on loan at first and on the cheap. They only pay for him if he is a success, a double edged blade. If he is a success will £15m be a realistic price and will Juve sell him on at a profit later? Do we bother with a sell-on clause?
How many new players will Fulham have tomorrow?
Arsene was right, the transfer window is so unfair.
Fulham were **** for the first part of the season and tomorrow they could be a completely different team, alternatively they could have so many new players they don't have a clue who each other are.
How did Lewis Holtby go from outstanding German international to loanee to bottom three club?

Sky Sports getting incredibly excited that Jim White has made it to their offices.

That news again, the top story on Sky Sports is that a middle aged man has arrived for work.

1:40pm

Just in case you've missed all the excitement of today's transfer deadline day so far, here's a recap of the main Saints stories:

Dani Osvaldo is in Turin, where he is currently undergoing a medical at Juventus, where his pay will go from £50,000 a week to £17,500.

Saints and Crystal Palace are finalising a deal to make Jason Puncheon's loan move at Selhurst Park permanent.

Mauricio Pochettino thinks it unlikely that a replacement for Osvaldo will be found today.

1:11pm

Deals going on elsewhere in the Premier League:

  • Fulham bid for Swansea's Neil Taylor
  • Stoke bid for Lee Cattermole from Sunderland
  • David Moyes confirms Man Utd will not be signing any more players
  • Kurt Zouma signs for Chelsea
  • Arsenal's Emmanuel Frimpong joins Barnsley

1:08pm

Basingstoke Gazette: Dani Osvaldo

1:07pm

David Moyes has said Manchester United won't be signing any more players before the window shuts - that planned raid on St Mary's for Luke Shaw, forever mentioned in the national tabloid press, never materialised then.

Old Trafford youngsters Larnell Cole and Ryan Tunnicliffe are in talks with Fulham, and could arrive on loan ahead of the Londoners' game with Saints tomorrow.

Basingstoke Gazette: Luke Shaw

12:58pm

12:05pm

As we hit lunchtime it's worth a recap on what has been a fairly quiet morning for Saints, and a look at what is expected in the next 11 hours before the window shuts.

We expect Dani Osvaldo to seal a move to Juventus on loan until the end of the season. The Italians will have an option to buy in the summer for a set fee believed to be €18m. Osvaldo is in Turin undergoing a medical.

Jason Puncheon's permanent move to Crystal Palace is also set to go through, for a fee of about £1.75m.

Despite all the speculation, there have not been bids for Luke Shaw, Jack Cork or any other player so far today.

As it stands we do not expect any signings.

12:01pm

There's a deal.

Lewis Holtby has joined Saints' opponents tomorrow Fulham from Spurs.

The Cottagers are finalising the paperwork and hope to have him available for the game at Craven Cottage tomorrow.

11:56am

11:30am

There are reports that Dimitar Berbatov may move from Fulham to Monaco today.

With Saints playing Fulham tomorrow that will be interesting news for Mauricio Pochettino and his team.

In fairness, with Fulham set to complete a raft of signings today, Saints probably don't know exactly what to expect for tomorrow.

11:12am

Wow it's quiet.

The Osvaldo move is about the only big thing happening anywhere in the Premier League at the moment it would seem.

10:55am

Juventus have offically confirmed that Dani Osvaldo is undergoing a medical with them.

Writing on their official site they say

Italian international striker Pablo Daniel Osvaldo is currently undergoing examinations at Turin’s Istituto di Medicina dello Sport, after which he will complete his medical at the Isokinetic and Clinica Fornaca di Sessant centres.

Juventus.com

10:26am

Wilfried Zaha has completed a loan move to Cardiff

10:07am

Elsewhere, Sunderland have signed Liam Bridcutt from Brighton for around £2.5m.

The player - who appeared for the Seagulls under current Black Cats boss Gus Poyet - will be available to face Saints in the FA Cup fifth round two weeks tomorrow.

Basingstoke Gazette: Liam Bridcutt

10:04am

It's got to be said that if those figures prove to be correct, it's potentially a good deal for Saints.

You would struggle to say that Osvaldo has enhanced his reputation since moving to England with his off field problems hardly offset by three goals in 13 appearances.

Yet, if he impresses at Juve and they sign him permanently in the summer, Saints will make a profit on him.

Of course, the danger is that doesn't happen and his value drops, but with the club really needing to shift him on, it seems a risk worth taking.

10:01am

It is interesting to read what Italian football bible Gazzetta dello Sport have reported about the potential Osvaldo deal.

They claim that Juventus have negotiated hard and will pay an initial €400,000 with an option to purchase in the summer for €18m.

Osvaldo will apparently also take a massive pay cut to move to Juventus - how did it come to pass that footballers take a pay cut to move from Saints to Juventus!?

Gazzetta say Osvaldo was getting paid more than €3m a year at Saints, which translates to not far short of £50,000 a week. At Juventus he will be paid around £17,500 a week.

Anyway, here's another picture of him in an amusing hat...

9:55am

The Italian media are reporting that Dani Osvaldo has landed in Turin for a medical ahead of completing his move to Juventus...and he is wearing a truly outstanding hat.

Here is what we are told is a picture of him at the airport from an Italian journalist...

8:54am

It's all quiet at the moment.

Just one deal completed thus far, and that involves Crewe

8:48am

Sounds like Palace will be busy today. They have had an offer accepted by Celtic for Joe Ledley

8:31am

The big news elsewhere in the top flight today could revolve around Manchester City who are said to be ready to splash out £35m on Porto pair Mangala and Fernando

8:29am

No doubt though the city's taxi drivers and airport dwellers will have their usual field day, reporting who has been in the back of their cab or flying into Southampton.

Let us know what you've heard. We won't believe you but it is at least briefly entertaining.

8:28am

There is a lot of speculation over who may or may not come in at St Mary's.

Any signing is likely to be a straight swap for Osvaldo.

However, Pochettino stated yesterday that it is a struggle to get hold of a player of the calibre they wish to and that he is happy to go with what he's got after the performance of Sam Gallagher against Arsenal

8:26am

But Jack Cork is set to stay a Saint with Mauricio Pochettino determined to fend off interest from Swansea

8:26am

In terms of other potential Saints deals, we are expecting Jason Puncheon to complete a permanent move to Crystal Palace, where he is currently on loan

8:25am

A quick reminder of where we are Saints wise, and the biggest news surrounds Osvaldo.

Saints want to move him on before the window closes but sealing a major deal this late can prove tough, so don't be surprised if it is a loan deal.

Juventus look his most likely destination, but there is still plenty of wrangling to be done over a potential fee in the summer.

Here is the latest as of this morning...

Race is on to ship out Osvaldo

Basingstoke Gazette: Dani Osvaldo opened his account for Southampton in their win over Crystal Palace

8:22am

Hello and welcome to the Daily Echo’s live blog on transfer deadline day.

The window slams shut at 11pm tonight and it could be a busy day in the Premier League.

Saints fans will be eagerly waiting to see if the club can offload suspended striker Dani Osvaldo, with Juventus his most likely destination.

The club are determined to hold onto all other first team players, and there is the possibility of one arrival at St Mary’s, though Mauricio Pochettino is happy to continue with the squad he has if not.

Don't think we'll be seeing any movement today other than Osvaldo. Hope i'm wrong as its always good to see a new signing coming in but do agree with Poch when he says there's no need to panic. We're in a comfortable position in the league and you'd struggle to find anyone who was there on Tuesday night who thinks we're in desperate need of new players. I admit the depth in the squad is pretty shallow and think we need to add a bit more quality to see us challenge further up the league but this can be all handled in the summer where Poch can have a good pre season with the new additions, similar to Lovren and Wanyama! He is a young quick player with bags of potential, and we have a good record of coaching players to realise that potential. After all, J-Rod and Clyne turned out pretty well.

I see Danny Ings as less of a risk than shipping in an older player who isn't first pick for his team and firing on all cylinders.

St Redford's comment got me thinking; let's look at Jay-Rod. Now, we all love the guy, he's come on great, and he was about comparable to people like Ings / Ince when we bought him. He's our top scorer, integral to the way we play, and deserved his England call. But ...

If we are talking about 'next levels', is he going to get there? He isn't a Suarez or a Seguero, and if we were to sell him it would be clubs who are just a little up the pecking order than us, like Spurs, those just outside the very top four, who would buy him, and not Man City.

Are we going to buy the Suarez's? I'd say no, because (a) we couldn't afford it and (b) they wouldn't come here. My God, if even Rooney who is vastly over-rated can be talking about weekly wages hovering around £300,000 a week, we aren't going to get the top creme de la creme. MAybe if we were in the champions league - but to get into it, we'd have to have the players first, so it's a vicious and inpenetrable circle.

We could buy the next generation of Suarez's, if we can find them, but then every club is looking for them too, and again the mega-rich boys will be in there with mega-bucks deals before we get close.

So, where are we looking? If it's a combination of buying players like Jay-Rod and making them better, and producing our own from the academy, then the players we buy WILL be like Ings & Ince, if Poch feels he can mould them. It's pointless hoping for players higher up the ladder; we won't get them. And so that leaves the question - are we destined to hover around the 6th/7th places, with the odd cup win? And if so, will Luke etc. stay with us, or go somewhere they can win the league & be in the champions' league?

Probably - and if so, does that make us a selling club? No, even Man U couldn't hold on to Ronaldo, or Arsenal to Van Persie. Unambitious? no, we have the ambition to get to the top, but ambition alone doesn't get you there - these days, it's money.

So, how do we feel? Personally, I don't give a monkey's nuts; I support the team, win or lose, whatever division, whoever plays. I'd prefer to see us win the quadruple every year, obviously, but I was born in Southampton and I'll never change that allegiance for winning things. It's not about success; it's about tribal allegiance to my team. And if the cold wind of reality in the current football climate is that we aren't going to get above 6th, apart from the odd season where something exceptional happens, I won't complain - as long as we are always trying to paly good football, which is all I really give a **** about.

And I think that I am more proud of my team for producing so many first-team academy products, for believing in youth, for playing great football, for attacking Arsenal without fear and giving them the game of their lives, for being led by SRL, the modern-day Roy of the Rovers, for singing "One Marcus Leibher" at every game, than any Man City fan could ever be of being taken over by a oil-rich sheikh who buys a team - albeit a great one - who win everything in sight.

How about Javier Hernandez on loan, proven premier league goal-scorer and maybe someone like Micah Richards at the back. Ha is only MoPo came on this forum and took note of our requests :) I still think we can push on and get 8th maybe even 7th depending how Everton do in second half of the season. Lets not just settle for 9th but seek to have a great second half to the season and then lets see where the land lies. Shame Dani didn't work out but we don't want players here who damage the team and work ethic. Lets keep hold of Luke and lets give Fulham a stuffing tomorrow....

Hernandez is a decent poacher but the rest of his play is pretty bad. He has an absolutely terrible first touch, so I'm not sure how well he'd fit in given we ask our strikers to do much more than just lurk in the box and score goals.

I dunno - my guess is we'll sign a striker from either Spain or Italy.

Doesn't look like too much happening on signings - MoPo looked very relaxed yesterday (and thankfully back to his normal self). Maybe looking more for someone to boost the back-up squad rather than a major regular player?

Nonetheless, I'll be hoping for a nice surprise right up until the deadline.

its easy to say `buy younger players and mould them` but that doesn't always work, we have had great success with clyne and j-rod but they were studied extensively before we brought them in, ings probably more so and it doesn't look like we are interested. I think too many people are getting hung up on the fact that he`s a saints fan. that might make him an excellent person who shows outstanding ability to make the proper and correct decisions in life, but not necessarily the right player. we should be aiming for higher than what we already have.
we are able to get champions league players, as we did it last window. dejan and Big Vic were playing in the champions league and they are top quality international who the top clubs were after, and who would say that either wouldn't look out of place at manure or chelski. we may only buy 1 player this window, might not even do that, so lets hope we can bring in someone of their quality.

Re:Tony in Liberia's post (too big to quote) very interesting and stirred the emotions regarding loyalty to Saints, agree with a lot of what you say, plus, look what happened when we tried to go for a so called 'big player' albeit one with some history.
Only thing I would add is, we still need some ambition to be a top 6 team or we never will make it, let's not settle for a mid table safe strategy, better to have tried and failed than never to have tried at all, as the saying goes.
I think Ings would be a solid addition to the team (if he lost some weight and got a bit fitter, like Rickie did) and although he may never set the world alight, he would be a decent and loyal player for some time to come.
What we have to do to add to the 'solid' players is spot and develop the next Suarez while they are affordable, that's our top 6 strategy.

If saints dont sign another strike we are going to be short upfront. I know Gallagaher seems to be settling in to the first team nicely and gave a good performance against Arsenal. However knowing that Rickie has picked up a few niggling injuries as or late compared to over the past few seasons i feel that if we dont get another striker we are going to be really short if some one gets injured for a few weeks. Alot of other teams are signing some pretty good players and could possibly pick up some much needed points in the second halg of the season. Saints cant afford to rest on what weve got. Danny fox has left which straight away leave us short of a natural left back, I know weve got Taggert waiting in the wings but not yet tried and tested at prem level. I think to carry on progressing up the league we need a couple of additions or were just going to be looking to finish up pretty much where we are now.

Why would you say that? The Lovren and Wanyama signings were down to the scouting network whereas Osvaldo was clearly the club backing a hunch of MoPo that he could be 'tamed' and use his powers for good.

Turned out MoPo wasn't right about that, but you cannot knock the other two summer signings - they've been absolute mustard.

The blend has to be right between developing youth and their potential along with having some crown jewels if we are serious at shaking it up. I think that was the strategy that Cortese was working towards, let’s hope it continues.

I'm all for buying younger players and 'moulding' them but in the case of Danny Ings we've literally already had him on the books and had all the time in the world to see if he could be moulded to the level we want. Someone who knows more than us thought he couldn't so let's leave it at that?

I've nothing against Ings - I'm sure he's a lovely bloke - but every transfer window there's a section of the fanbase who latch onto some player from the championship and chant their name like a mantra as though they're the solution to all our problems. It's Ings this season and it was Tom Ince last season. Truth is, I don't believe either are really good enough and clearly the club doesn't either so let's move on, no?

If you needed any proof that the Italian League is a completely different beast to the Premier League (and thus a risky place to buy from) consider the following:

The Italian league leaders seem desperate to buy Dani Osvaldo
Taarabt goes from Fulham/QPR reserves to AC Milan

Made me laugh when one of the press pack asked Taarabt: "Why Milan?". I think a general "Why!!!???" would have been more appropriate.

You right about Ings and Ince but who can we sign, who wants to play for Saints Knowing that we are not in the Champions League or Europa League ?. I say let the club establish itself in the EPL for anther year and maybe reach a final of some cup then maybe let's talk about Europe if we still have Lallana, Rodriguez and so on ..

We're not going to sign anyone today so this debate is all a bit 'moot'.

Haha! Taggert. Nice.

Plus two, minus one, not a good return in my opinion.

Now I for one have been impressed with this transfer window -not so much for who we have got in - none - but for the fact that our stars are still here and we have shifted so much 'dead wood'.
In summary:
Outs: Martin Fox Lee Barnard Sharp (Sold Punch) and likely Osvaldo.

In the summer we must extend the contract of Jack Cork and shift Hoover Guly and Forte which will then allow us under FFP to acquire the four we need to push on (CB, LB, Poacher and winger). I have kept Gaston and brought back Makuya.

LETS HOPE THERE ARE SILLY SURPRISES COME 11PM COYR

Ospers, dare I say it that 2 minus 1 should still be a positive in your philosophy.
I think the scouting network is probably at a stage now for football clubs that there are few surprises or hidden treasures to unearth. It’s all about who is prepared to pay the top dollar for somebody now.

Bye Mr Fox. Thanks for the work in the lower leagues.
Billy never got his chance with us which was a shame as I think he would have done better than a £15M Italian.
Aaron needs play time and should do well at Brum.
Barnard also needs first team action somewhere.
And finally, Osvaldo.... what a dic! Hope Lallana, Shaw, Clyne, J-Rod, Cork, JWP, Sam and Sir Rickie get to knock you out of the World Cup!

That's my point, though: the 'scouting network' chose two and they were both amazing. That's a success rate of exactly 100%. That means they're better at buying players than Le Tiss was at penalties.

My thoughts are the same regarding the clear out. It seems that as soon as Cortese went then so did a bunch of fringe players, or is that just coincidence?

As you say, maybe it's clearing the decks for a summer recruitment drive. And we go with what we already have till the end of this season. I'd like to see one in though, but only if it's a player with the right temperament and ability.
Keeping what we have,. would be good Then we have plenty of time to assess the youngsters and target the right type of players in the summer, that will fit in with the present tight knit group we already have.

Just goes to show with the osvaldo situation you don't always get the right type of player, By just spending millions. Hope the club learns rom this episode though.

Why would you say that? The Lovren and Wanyama signings were down to the scouting network whereas Osvaldo was clearly the club backing a hunch of MoPo that he could be 'tamed' and use his powers for good.

Turned out MoPo wasn't right about that, but you cannot knock the other two summer signings - they've been absolute mustard.
Plus two, minus one, not a good return in my opinion.
Ospers, dare I say it that 2 minus 1 should still be a positive in your philosophy.
I think the scouting network is probably at a stage now for football clubs that there are few surprises or hidden treasures to unearth. It’s all about who is prepared to pay the top dollar for somebody now.
As long as we don't get any more overpaid Prima Donnas that can't join with the Team ethic, I will be happy.

The Tweet states:

What a shame the Tweet is from someone so fortunately called @iretwit88 !!!

IRE and TWIT might easily both be used to describe the very player being boasted about! How very fitting! Well, I think it's funny!

This really is a huge media event.

Sky Sports says there is little happening anywhere because everyone in football is too busy watching Sky Sports to see if anything's happening. In fact Sky Sports have shown footage of someone watching Sky Sports. Also, having got wind of the story, the BBC have just shown film of the Sky Sports cameraman filming someone watching Sky Sports - and ITV have broadcast shots of the the BBC filming the Sky Sports cameraman who was filming someone watching Sky Sports.

Apparently, BT Sport have sent someone down to try and get pictures of the ITV camaraman filming the BBC filming Sky Sports filming somebody watching Sky Sports. By 10pm there could be an absolutely massive line of cameramen filming each other filming each other.

It's all very exciting.

Yes, it's like the rumour that we would sell Luke and loan him back for the rest of the season - why would either party even want to do that? Probably because they'd know it was his only real chance of getting a game and progressing, which begs the question why buy him in the first place?

I don't believe the financial figures that are stated about the Osvaldo deal. No footballer these days ever accepts a pay cut. Let alone one from £50,000 a week to £17,500 a week. Can you imagine the conversation with his agent when such a deal is proposed? No, I fear that the report means that Juventus will pay him £17,500 while we still have to pay the rest of the wage bill.

Spoke to Jesus early this morning who said Dani was off. He also said aim is to finish top half. I let him know our thoughts on the FA cup, big smile suggests they will give it a go.

We couldn't afford a bad rushed transfer so we will carry on with a thin squad and give youngsters a chance. I'm sure we will sign good players in the summer when it can be done properly and not at inflated prices (other than all prices are inflated!)

Probably a wise strategy. Of the areas where we might lack cover, we have right backs who can cover left back and 3 strikers, including Gallagher. There is cover at centre half – a bit dodgy perhaps but I thought Yashida did well against Arsenal.

We must never take the really, really good news for granted - big clubs with bottomless pockets didn't even bother try to prise our young stars away - we are no longer a selling club. That may change in the future but for now lets celebrate it - and give thanks for the owners, for Cortese and for whoever had to deal with the window this past week.

Spoke to Jesus early this morning who said Dani was off. He also said aim is to finish top half. I let him know our thoughts on the FA cup, big smile suggests they will give it a go.

I don't know what the odds are for finishing ninth but suggest it's a great bet if something reasonable available. Let's really go for the cup.
Might even be worth a punt on 8th given what happened to Newcastle in the window.

Aye, he needs to get his game on. Carroll showed the other night that he's a right bag of bumwash so if Rickie can find 10 goals between now and the end of the season then it's happy days.

Who is it that keeps 'slamming' the window shut. Every report I read says the window slams shut. Ho do we know it doesn't gently close? Do we need to call a glazier? I need answers.

In his house. I'd taken delivery of a parcel for him.

Off to Fulham tomorrow. If we play anything like Tuesday it's three points provided we can put it away.

Has he moved into Rickie's old house?

Fulham should be fairly easy. They're a) sh1te and b) probably not that well prepared given how busy they've been signing players today.

milton road says...

They were talking about Morgan a few weeks ago on Sunday morning show saying he was worth at least 25 million. So that is either nonsense or Wenger has tried one of his cheapie raids. Either way he would not of gone same as Adam, just paper nonsense.

Can see Poch's view that this move was a bit unexpected a couple of weeks a go, so really wants to be certain he brings in the right players rather than rush buy.

Reckon if Gallagher gets a run he may prove more useful than Osvaldo. Would of liked to see the defence strengthened. Yet the future is still bright and its still red and white. Hopefully stripey red and white next season

I think Osvaldo has let everyone involved with the club down. In the first instance the manager, but also the players, the (then) chairman and the fans. He has so much quality but he has betrayed the trust shown in him by Southampton. A real shame.

Oh well, the Saints will continue their march. COYR!!!

Having a spouse and children is expensive. Apart from having to get a bigger place, one also has to feed them and get insurance for them in case they get sick. The annual survey by the Kaiser Family Foundation discovered that the cost of family health insurance is also increasing, though the boost this year was moderate compared to last year. You can pay your health insurance premium with an installment loan.

Stay single then, it won't bother you, by the way the boiler at Staplewood is fine, there was no need for Hernandez the Southern Gas fitter to attend at all.
