Mauricio Pochettino confirmed that Saints have not received any firm interest or offers from rival clubs for Luke Shaw.

The left-back has regularly been the subject of transfer speculation and has been linked again this week with a move to either Manchester United or Chelsea.

As reported by the Daily Echo over the weekend, Saints had not received any bids for the 18-year-old star, who has already gone on record this season to say he intends to remain at St Mary's.

Pochettino was asked today whether any firm interest or offers had been forthcoming, with the club’s manager saying: “As far as I know, no.”

Pochettino added: “At this moment, Southampton have no interest in selling Luke Shaw.

“Not in the summer, either. Southampton have got a lot of expectation put in Luke’s future and we have no intention of selling him.”

So, what he's saying then is that the papers have been making things up just to create headlines. Who would adam and eve it!

Let's get January out of the way, then we can see which players (current and new) will be carrying us to FA Cup glory and a top 7 finish.

Can't wait!

excellent news well done MP. these `big` clubs need to realise that they cant bully us into selling. the constant press reports on how much they are willing to pay and how much they will offer luke for wages, first team starts etc. are aimed at unsettling the player and forcing the clubs hand. these reports come from the clubs through the press.
KL has said no, MP has said no and luke has said no several times, how many times do they need to be told?

I like the comment about not in the summer either. What we need now is a call up to the world cup squad, which will stick another 10mil on the asking price. Then we can sit back and watch all the big clubs get stuck in a bidding war, only to be told to f@ck off at the end of it.

No one's pleaded for Luke to join their side quite so much since Darth Vader.

its all down to luke the club backed him with a decent 5 year contract .either he wants to play football or go for more wages .we can only sell if luke puts in a transfer request the media just try to pressure young players .in the past the club had to sell with just 15000 at the dell ,but its up the players now if they want to move to top 4 clubs double there wages .we dont want to lose them but if they want to go you cant tie them down as strachan said before bridge went in 2004 promising young left back

My Father in law is a massive Saint fan and I have caught the bug and he keep telling me that Shaw is worth 25 million at least. I'm a Saint fan but I don't believe that Shaw is worth that money !. He's not better than Alaba who play for Bayern or Alves, Alba Barca, Carvajal Real Madrid, Beside I think the price tag on the full back is just crazy !. If he was a regular in the Champions League and for England then maybe but that's not the case. I know that price tag is from Sky and tabloid but I don't really understand if it's really the release close then that's crazy. People from this forum please hep me clarify this !

Nah, Luke's way overrated and certainly not worth £20m+. If the likes of Man U and Chelsea want a truly great left back for a bargain price they should look no further than Danny Fox.

Seriously - if any scouts are reading this for a bit of inside knowledge, Foxy is definitely your man. You could probably get him for under £10m. (Although you should probably bid more just to be on the safe side.)

Maybe. I'm not sure.

Most of it is banner headline stuff to keep the press ratpack at bay and is actually fairly superficial.

We know we aren't for sale, according to Katharina.
We know we aren't selling anyone, Katharina has spoken.
We know MoPo is staying, for now, according to MoPo and Katharina.

.. and thats all we know, for now.

Maybe that's enough, and maybe it's more than the Don would have allowed, but we move on and see how it goes. I actually quite liked it when things were kept close to his chest. You knew that most stuff ijn the press was complete cobblers unless the Don had confirmed it. Now we will need to see the words being backed with action and commitment. Right now I have no reason to think it is anything other than genuine. I hope my faith is rewarded.

Every player has his price. Fortunately these days Saints don't need the money. So the price is not what any big clubs want to pay, it's the price we want that matters. And with all the big clubs sniffing round that makes Luke a VERY hot property. They all better be preparing to dig very deeply indeed into their pockets. Only a ridiculous offer will have any chance of succeeding. Do I hear 40mil? Sorry not enough . Try again.

The rot set in under Rupert Lowe?

Didn't he sign Luke Shaw,Spyderman, JWP, Lallana etc in the first place along with all the other 8 year old we keep banging on about?

He was also not the first chairman to sell a good player. Not a big Rupert fan but he was the first to really back our Academy properly with money - some of which came from the Bridge sale, or have I got this wrong?

I was referring to the fact that MoPo has told us that no bids have been received for Shaw. That is the type of info we did not get before. As there are only four days left it would seem a little late in the day to start the bidding process now.

£30m and I reckon we would be tempted... If he did go the club buying him would have a re-sale value of figures bearing Bales value and I think they see that in his potential...I would like him to stay... At the end if the day if we can keep these players then we have massive potential as a club... Plus, year in year we are getting better plus Shaw still has time to make a move if he feels he needs to

Bit late in the day. You always reject the first bid so that takes a bit of time up. Then there's haggling add ons like sell on, England appearances, club appearances etc. Then there's agreeing wages with the player and his agent which can be very protracted as we ourselves have found out. Then if all of that happens without hitch there is of course the medical. If someone really wanted Shaw they would have bid a week or two ago.

Each to their own I suppose, though I preferred the picture of Bally and Lawrie Mac..
Everyone's Star Wars, haven't they?
No!

I doubt very much he's made any decision yet. He will want to see who gets to be CEO and what their relationship is like and whether the owners are prepared to invest in the team or not. I'm sure if all things are right he will stay unless a massive club come for him.

Massive week for the skates with Wycombe and Torquay, lose both and it will be really funny,

Big week for us too. Arsenal are tough at the best of times without the injuries and suspensions. I'll be very happy with a point. Want all three at Craven though going with Bill and Small so only a couple of sherbets. Small will be miffed.

Yes, but I reckon they would absolutely rip up the Skrill Premier League.

Wouldn't it be nice for Hampshire to boast two Premier League sides? They're doing their best to make it happen (and set up a mouth-watering derby with Salisbury).

bring up any single game stats you want, but year in year out, our average gates stuff yours out of site. we had bigger gates in L1 than you did in the prem, in the same year. even before we moved to our state of the art world class, fully paid for, stadium our attendances were bigger than yours at nottarf. yes we all know you had 50k gate, you've told us enough times, but that was because there were loads of navy boys stationed in the city from all around the country and they went just to watch a game.
remember that most important stat, L1 we had more fans than you in the prem. says all that needs to be said really.

Memory, all alone in the moonlight
I can dream of the old days
Life was beautiful then
I remember the time I knew what happiness was
Let the memory live again

again doughnut, history (something your lot soon will be) shows we have consistently had higher attendances than you, more top flight years than you, not as many administrations as you. the only time you beat us is because you brought a cup with charities and local businesses money. oh an we`ve never had a relegation battle in L2/bottom league in English football, that's because we`ve never played in that league.
the straws your clutching are getting fewer and fewer, just like your fans, and when you go down you will go bust again!

A Columbian, should be able to keep close to those white lines!
Where did this appear ? Any link?
Just some twitter #Saintsfc messages at the moment, no reliable source to my knowledge.
Thanks. Daily Mail says we are pursuing Astori again due to Lovren injury. Would be nice. Believe it when he's in Southampton.

Its Beautiful now while saints don't win nothing the fa cup next round guaranteed two of the big boys a in the quarter final and I reckon Everton also as the third as long as they don't draw each other the fourth tie will be the weaker group if you don't beat Sunderland you wont benefit with perhaps a easier draw next time . it is good night ,

Yes, but I reckon they would absolutely rip up the Skrill Premier League.

Wouldn't it be nice for Hampshire to boast two Premier League sides? They're doing their best to make it happen (and set up a mouth-watering derby with Salisbury).

Are you sure about that Ipswich match, Blue? Let us have the details because I can't remember it.

Oh yes, Oxford United last August; and your favourite scoreline - 1-4. Oxford took 3,500 fans. So, that would leave about 14,700 skunts. That's 3,500 Oxford fans per skunt goal and about 3,675 skunts per Oxford goal. No, don't try and work that out, Blue, you haven't quite got enough fingers.

Is this the keyboard warrior equivalent of taking their end?

Can only assume with all the "banter" that it's half term this week.
