A WOMAN was seriously injured after a crash on a Hampshire motorway.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident, which left a 55-year-old woman in hospital.

Officers were called to junction 4a of the M3 near Farnborough at about 7pm last night after reports that a black Audi and a lorry had collided.

The driver of the Audi, a 57-year-old man from Poole, was not badly hurt but his passenger, a 55-year-old woman from Poole, suffered severe injuries and was taken to St George's Hospital.

The driver of the black lorry, a 55-year-old man from Poland, was not hurt.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who can help explain the circumstances of the crash.

PC Rob Kilgallon, from the Roads Policing Unit, said: “We know that at this time of the evening there were many vehicles travelling in both directions of the M3.

“We are keen to speak to anyone who saw the collision or who saw either the black Audi or the black-coloured LGV Volvo lorry, which has a foreign registration, prior to the incident.”
