A MAN was robbed as he walked along a residential street in daylight.
Now, police in Southampton are appealing for anyone who may be able to help their investigation to come forward.
At some time between 11am and 11.30am on Friday, September 18 the 64-year-old victim was in Russell Place in Portswood, when he was approached by a man and robbed.
The offender is described as white, aged in his 20s and of average build.
He made off with a large quantity of cash.
Officers have today issued a public appeal for help.
Detective Constable Robert Cross, said: “Were you in Russell Place at the time of this incident. Did you see a man acting suspiciously or did you see a bronze coloured BMW in the area at the time? I would urge anyone with any information to get in touch with us soon as possible.”
Russell Place is the location of the home of Spitfire creater, RJ Mitchell.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC Cross at Southampton police station by calling 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where information can be left anonymously.
