A MASS BRAWL involving as many as 30 people broke out in a Southampton bar last night, leaving one man injured.

Revellers looked on in horror as a group of up to 30 people clashed at 90 Degrees in Carlton Place in the city.

According to the bar, the fight was between a large number of football supporters, in the city to see Saints take on Chelsea and officers from Hampshire Constabulary are investigating along those lines although not ruling anything out at this stage.

Police rushed to the scene in several vehicles to break up the punch-up, which happened at 7.20pm.

Officers were speaking to witnesses and an ambulance was also called to the scene.

A 24-year-old man suffered head injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital by ambulance for treatment.

One other person was also hurt.

No-one was arrested but police have launched an investigation into the brawl.

The bar was closed by officers for over an hour last night until the group were dispersed.

It is not known whether any damage was caused to the bar.

On their Facebook page, 90 Degrees said: "We would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused late afternoon yesterday, when Chelsea and Southampton supporters clashed, but a big thank you to all those that returned to the establishment for our usual Sunday Funday and our usual great atmosphere."
