RSPCA Basingstoke and Andover is appealing to find a forever homes for lurchers Bruno and Lawrence.

Bruno, a three-year-old lurcher crossbreed, and Lawrence, a three-year-old lurcher, came into the care of the RSPCA as strays and have remained there for almost a year.

Bruno is described as a very sweet and friendly dog who loves attention and playing.

Basingstoke Gazette: Bruno and LawrenceRSPCA volunteer Sarah Biro said: “Bruno loves a quick zoomie around the garden, so he will need an owner with a large, fully enclosed garden. He loves his toys and will need some basic training, but also loves other dogs and can be homed with children over 12 years old.

“He can’t go with cats and will need an owner who is home most of the time."

Lawrence is described as a ‘very cheeky boy with plenty of character once he knows you’.

Sarah added: “Lawrence is a little shy, but he is getting better. He loves other dogs and just wants to play.

“People look past these dogs as they are large, but they are such an easy breed and very lazy once they have had their run around."

Lawrence needs a home without cats but can suit children over 12-years-old. It also requires a home with a large, enclosed garden so ‘he can have that quick run a round’.

Sarah has volunteered with the Basingstoke and Andover branch of the charity for 16 years, providing vital support and a foster home to animals in the area.

The branch is run by a committee of volunteers and relies on public donations and fundraising to support its animal welfare activities.

These include animal re-homing, provision of limited financial assistance and the promotion of responsible pet ownership through emergency neutering and microchipping campaigns.

If you are unable to commit to rehoming an animal on a permanent basis, then fostering could be ideal.
