TWO culinary experts are coming together in Hook to create an evening of heartfelt food and drink.

The open-fired Hearth restaurant at Heckfield Place in Hook will kick-start its 2024 series of supper clubs with its culinary director Skye Gyngell joining celebrated chef Merlin Labron-Johnson on Thursday, February 29 to create a delicious menu that embraces their shared cooking philosophies.

They will use the very best ingredients sourced as close to home as possible.

The supper club was a sell-out last year.

Chef Labron-Johnson is a head chef and owner of Somerset-based and Michelin-starred restaurant, Osip.

The menu will include an array of dishes that celebrate what’s in season using produce directly from Heckfield’s organic Home Farm and biodynamic Market Garden as well as a cider chosen especially by Merlin from Bruton, Somerset.

The evening will kick off with a brief introduction to the thoughtfully curated menu before enjoying starters such as; Wood fired bread with slow-cooked winter greens, Bitter leaf salad with anchovy and egg, and Cornish tuna carpaccio with a Todoli citrus and New Seasons olive oil dressing.

Following this, diners will feast on a main of Lamb a la ficelle served with Rosemary potatoes and a Swiss chard gratin. A luscious Citrus tart along with Tissanes and Petit four will round up the savoury courses and bring the meal to a sweet finish.

The food and evening will both be a fantastic testament to both Skye’s and Merlin’s love of working with the seasons and seed-to-table approach.
