POLICE have spoken to a woman after a man was stabbed in Basingstoke in May.

Marie March, 30, from Basingstoke, had been wanted in connection with a serious assault in Woburn Gardens on Tuesday, May 2. Police have said they have now spoken to her.

A police spokesperson said: “We have now located a 30-year-old woman, who has been spoken with by officers.

“Our enquiries are ongoing at this time into the incident in Basingstoke on May 2."

At around 7.30pm on May 2, police were called by colleagues from the ambulance service to a report of a serious assault at an address in Woburn Gardens.

Upon arrival, officers located a 34-year-old man with a stab wound to his chest.

He was taken to hospital and his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
