A MAN has been stabbed in his chest in a serious assault in Basingstoke.
The incident happened at around 7.30pm on Tuesday, May 2. Police were called by colleagues from the ambulance service to a report of a serious assault at an address in Woburn Gardens.
Upon arrival, officers located a 34-year-old man with a stab wound to his chest.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Officers are currently at the scene carrying out enquiries to establish the exact circumstances.

Detective Inspector Mike Higgins from the Northern Investigation Team said: “We know incidents of this nature can be extremely concerning for the local community however please be reassured that enquiries are in hand and we believe this to be an isolated incident.
“Officers will remain in the area today carrying out enquiries. If you have any concerns or information please don’t hesitate to speak to them.”
Residents in the area told the Gazette that they did not see or hear anything but 'know someone got stabbed'.
