A £10,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the safe return of a baby donkey that was stolen from its mother at a farm in Hook.

Moon, who is less than two months old, was taken from a field at Miller’s Ark in Hook where she was with her mother, Astra, on Monday, May 15.

Elizabeth Miller, who owns Miller’s Ark, said she is “completely devastated and incredibly concerned”.

She added: “She was only born at the beginning of March and needs to be with her mum.”

Appealing for help from the public on social media, Elizabeth said poor Moon would be “braying loudly tonight because she will be missing her mum badly”.

A private donor is working with Hampshire and Isle of Wight News to reunite the foal with her mum.

In a post on social media, the media organisation said: “In conjunction with another private donor, we are able to exclusively offer a £10,000 cash reward due to the information available and serious concern for the Donkeys immediate welfare. The monetary value of a Donkey has no bearing on the value of its life in return.

“A rescue team are on standby and available if the location is disclosed to us 24/7 and we will ensure your personal details remain totally anonymous.

“This reward is not through the Police or any other Organisations so information would need to be passed directly to us on our message section for a reward to be paid once verified.

“If you would rather contact the police then please call 101 with the reference 44230191581.”
