A HOOK Post Office has re-opened after a ram raid wrecked the front of the shop in the early hours of last Saturday.

Postmaster Kevin Molloy and his wife Jackie pulled out the stops to get the shop re-opened as soon as possible to restore services to the community.

Their other post office at Odiham was also extra busy whilst their Hook branch was temporarily closed.

Postmaster Kevin Molloy said: “What a week it has been after the shock of the ram raid and working like troupers to get the Post Office and shop re-open. It’s not pretty at the front as it was before, but the shop is functional.

“We really want to thank the community for their emotional, physical and financial support. They set up a Just Giving page to help with the costs of our insurance excess. Our Post Office Area Manager, Mary Chong, and others from Post Office have also been very supportive and helpful.”

The Post Office is also urging anyone with information to contact the police or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

The couple, who have run Post Office for 27 years, are at the heart of the communities that they serve.

In 2020 Kevin got a Post Office We’re Stronger Together Award for his continual service over many years.

He distinguished himself when he needed to refurbish Hook Post Office.

During the three weeks of refurbishment he arranged with the local parish church for a free bus service to chauffeur vulnerable customers to nearby alternative Post Offices.
