A BASINGSTOKE man who was injured in a serious collision in Basingstoke has died in the hospital, it has been revealed.

The 23-year-old man was taken to hospital after a two-vehicle crash on Roman Road at the junction with Roman Way on Saturday, January 8.

Police have now confirmed that the man was pronounced dead in hospital on Saturday, January 15.

A 52-year-old woman and an 82-year-old man, both from Basingstoke, also had suffered serious injuries in the crash and were taken to the hospital.

They remain in hospital at this time.

A 34-year-old woman from Basingstoke was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. She was later released under investigation.

She had also suffered serious injuries in the collision.

The crash involved a blue Ford Focus and a Honda Civic, with both drivers carrying a passenger.

Police have also renewed an appeal for witness of the accident.
