BASINGSTOKE Town travel to Salisbury City on Saturday for what should be an excellent test ahead their league opener.

The Whites are one of the Southern League Division One South West title favourites, so it is the perfect game to finish off pre-season for the Dragons.

Town boss Terry Brown said: “Barring injuries I will be playing the team I will look to start against Frome. I am expecting a really tough game which is just what we want at this point of pre-season.”

The draw for the Southern League Cup first round has been made and the Dragons will travel Fleet Town on Tuesday October 3.

Town played Fleet last Saturday in the semi-final of the O’Neills Invitation Cup winning the game 6-1.

Then on Sunday a completely different team lost 6-0 to Farnborough in the final, with former Reading striker Jamie Cureton scoring the first two goals.

Last night, Town were in action at Leatherhead, where they lost 2-1.

Basingstoke Town are holding a Fans Forum Wednesday, August 9 at 7pm in the club house.
