THE Dragons will be hoping to snap a three game losing streak in the league, when they entertain Redditch United on Saturday.

The visitors are seventh in the table, even if they have lost their last two outings and travel to a Basingstoke 13th in the table after Tuesday night’s 2-1 loss to Kings Lynn.

Town manager was upbeat despite the loss and said: “We deserved some thing out of the game for our second half performance. I hope we can carry this on this Saturday.

“I have been told they are a hard working side and it starts a difficult Christmas this year.”

Brown will have to wait to pick his team, after three players were injured on Tuesday night. Rob Atkinson suffered ankle ligament damage, while Joe Gater and Charlie Kennedy were both forced off due to concussion.

Brown said: “I may have to juggled things around, but the I felt the three subs (Richie Whittingham, George Bennett and Michael Atkinson) did well against Kings Lynn.

One player who will not be involved is striker George Hallahan, a product of the Basingstoke Academy.

Brown said: “George has left due financial reasons, he could not afford to do the project as he needs a full time job. All at the club wish him well. I will now look to see if I can bring in another striker.”

In other news Basingstoke Town have been drawn at home in the Hampshire Senior Cup quarter-finals to Wessex League Division One outfit AFC Stoneham, who are currently sixth in the table. The game is scheduled for Tuesday January 17.

Brown is looking forward to the game and said: “This is a competition I would like to win and you always want a home draw.”
