BASINGSTOKE Town complete their pre-season campaign with a trip across the English Channel to Guernsey.

For the island side who play in a league below the Dragons, this will be their first game ahead of the new season.

Brown’s young guns have an excellent pre-season and will hope to end with a win, ahead of their league opener at home to Banbury a week on Saturday.

Manager Terry Brown is looking forward to the trip and said: “I will be looking to start the game with my what I think will be my starting XI for the game against Banbury.

“I will be looking for us to get a win to finish things off nicely, but at the moment it is matter of keeping the players feet on the ground as everything is going so well.”

Two players who are definitely ruled out are Mark Hastings and Dave Ray. Captain Ray is hoping to be back a couple of weeks into the league campaign.

The trip to Guernsey will also be used as chance for some team building as the Town squad is brand new for this season.
