KINGSCLERE and Chineham will meet in a Hampshire Two local derby on Saturday, but the sides had very different results on the opening day of the season.

Chineham will go into this weekend's game at the Fieldgate Centre full of confidence after beating visiting Nomads 85-3, running in a total of 13 tries.

Kris Ford and Jonty Moody both scored three, with Kieran Daley and Tom Johnson both crossing the line twice. Chris Dickens, Connor Ford and Zak Woodger were the other scorers as Chineham went top of the formative table.

In contrast, Kingsclere lost 31-0 away at Ventnor, while Overton, the other local side in the division, lost 19-17 at Southampton. Their next game will see them host Locksheath Pumas on Saturday.

Tadley Tigers' tough introduction to life in London Two South West continued as they were beaten 34-6 by visiting Winchester on Saturday.

The hosts made a good start but were unable to make the most of their early dominance and went into half-time 12-6 down, their points coming thanks to two Chris Dennison penalties.

Tadley also made a good start to the second half, but Winchester were clinical going forward, running in several more tries to complete a comfortable victory.

Next up for Tadley, who have been unable to amass a single league point from their opening two games, is a trip to Portsmouth.

Aldermaston claimed a 33-14 victory over visiting Farnham Royal in the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Championship last weekend.

Cary Jackson scored a first-half hat-trick of tries to set Aldermaston on course for victory, with Mike Lowe also crashing over late on.

However, the victory was somewhat marred by a serious injury to full-back Paul Castle, who required an ambulance to take him to hospital after suffering a dislocated hip.

The win leaves Aldermaston top of the table, with a perfect record from their opening two games. They travel to fourth-placed Harwell on Saturday.
