CHINEHAM RFC were knocked out of the Hampshire Plate after losing 31-17 away at Fareham Heathens on Saturday.
Fareham scored an early try but Overton replied against the run of play, Chris Dickens touching down after a good kick and chase.
However, things began to go awry towards the end of the half, the hosts running in two tries with Chineham down to 14 men following a yellow card for Kris Ford.
Chineham’s Luke Dyer crossed the line early in the second half to reduce the deficit and while Fareham instantly responded, Dyer soon got his second try to keep the visitors in the game.
However, they were unable to complete the comeback and conceded another try before the end as Fareham ran out comfortable winners.
Chineham return to Hampshire Two action this week, travelling to high-flying Fawley.
Overton lost 62-0 at Millbrook in the RFU Junior Vase last week. They face a trip to US Portsmouth this Saturday, when they will be looking to climb off the bottom of the Hampshire One table.
Tadley, Kingsclere and Aldermaston all return to action after a week off this weekend. Tadley will celebrate the opening of their new stand as they host Hungerford in the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Premier, while, in the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Championship, Aldermaston host Didcot and Kingsclere travel to Wheatley.
