TADLEY RFC maintained their 100 per cent record in the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Premier Division with a narrow victory away at nearest challengers Gosford All-Blacks.

Gosford opened the scoring with a penalty but Tadley hit back with a try, Kyle Brewer powering over for a score that was converted by Craig Raymond. However, they then conceded two unconverted tries and trailed 13-7 at half-time.

Tadley refused to give in and grabbed the lead when replacement scrum-half Sam Pincott stretched out to score with 10 minutes to go, Raymond's conversion giving the visitors a 14-13 lead that they were able to hold on to.

The result means Tadley remain top of the table going into a week off, four points clear of the chasing pack.

Overton RFC picked up their first point of the season despite losing 24-22 at home to Hampshire One high-flyers Fordingbridge on Saturday.

The visitors scored first but a Tom Barrington penalty and Marc Meggeson's try had Overton in front, with Rob Sutherland extending the lead soon after.

Fordingbridge replied with their second try but Overton led at half-time. The visitors went ahead with a try but Overton hit back, Tristan Harper going over, with Barrington's conversion giving the hosts a five-point lead.

A famous win seemed to be on the cards but home hearts were broken in the final minutes as a converted try meant Overton had to settle for a losing bonus point.

Crowthorne rallied but the visitors clung on and when Green went over for his second try, it seemed the game was won. However, more home pressure saw the gap reduced to four points, with Aldermaston hanging on for a 30-26 victory.
