TADLEY RFC opened 2016 with an excellent 29-8 victory at Chesham in the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Premier.

The game was switched from a waterlogged Chesham pitch to Amersham and Chiltern RFC’s ground.

However, this did not stop the Tigers roaring to victory to keep alive their hopes of promotion this season.

The weekend, the fourth placed Tigers entertain Chipping Norton who are eighth in the Premier standings.

Aldermaston produced a spirited display as they only lost 24-0 to second placed side Didcot in the Championship.

This weekend, Aldermaston travel to Berkshire Shire Hall for a game against a side currently two places above them in seventh spot.

Chineham’s promotion showdown with visiting Millbrook last Saturday was postponed and the Lions have no game in Hampshire One.

They are next in action on January 23 when they entertain Petersfield.

Overton and Kingsclere end their playing break this weekend in Hampshire Two.

Overton are fourth in the table and will hope to end leaders Romsey’s 100 per cent start to the campaign when they travel to north Hampshire.

Kingsclere also have a tough game to start 2016 as they face a visit from third placed Alresford.
