CHINEHAM Lions produced their best result of the season so far as they beat visiting Hampshire One leaders Fordingbridge 36-8.

The home side took the lead as Kris Ford converted his own try as they played up the hill in the first 40 minutes.

Ford repeated the feat just after Fordingbridge scored their only try of the game.

The visitors further cut the Chineham lead with a penalty, but home side hit back as Gareth Kelly’s charge up field saw excellent supporting play from Lloyd Amos.

Second half tries by Kieran Daley, Dave Rees and another from Ford completed the victory, which moved the Lions up to fifth in the table and this weekend they are away at Sandown and Shanklin.

In Hampshire Two, Overton remain fourth after a 27-14 win over Nomads and are at second placed Alresford on Saturday.

Kingsclere lost 57-0 at Alton and this weekend they entertain Southampton.

Tadley Tigers put up a brave fight as they collected a losing bonus points after they went down 13-3 to Berks and Bucks Oxon Premier league leaders Milton Keynes. Craig Raymond kicked Tadley’s only points.

This Saturday, Tadley are at home to Risborough, while in the Championship Aldermaston are back in action as they entertain Farrington.
