LONDON Irish proved to be no match for the Exeter Chiefs in the Premiership as they lost 38-11 in Devon.
The home side opened the scoring after 12 minutes as fly half Gareth Steenson scored.
Chris Noakes got the Exiles on the board with a penalty, but Exeter replied with two converted tries from Don Armand and Luke Cowan-Dickie.
Noakes kicked another penalty to complete the first-half scoring as the visitors trailed 19-6.
Further scores after the interval from James Short and Jack Nowell extended the home side’s lead, before Blair Cowan scored the only Irish try.
Nowell’s second score completed the 38-11 scoreline and the Exiles will hope to snap their losing start to their Premiership campaign, when they travel to Saracens on Saturday (1pm).
