LONDON Irish finished their Premiership away campaign with a 35-13 defeat at Gloucester.

The home side won this game despite having flanker Matt Kvesic red carded after 23 minutes for a dangerous tackle on Tomas O’Leary.

At this point, Gloucester led 3-0, but the Exiles were soon on the board thanks to a try from Alex Lewington.

The home side hit back and by half-time led 13-5 thanks to Jonny May’s try and a Greg Laidlaw penalty.

After the break, the boot of Laidlaw moved Gloucester to a 22-8 advantage, after Chris Noakes kicked Irish’s only penalty.

The contest was ended thanks to two tries from the home side as Dan Thomas and Henry Purdy went over.

The Exiles scored a late consolidation score from Andy Short.

Irish wrap up their Premiership campaign with a visit from Wasps on Saturday (3.30pm) at the Madejski Stadium.
