BASINGSTOKE RFC moved up to seventh in the National League Three London table, after a 36-19 victory at Barking.

The visitors opened the scoring after 16 minutes, as Jamie Fish won a scrum against head and went over, only for the home side to level things.

The rest of the half belonged to ’Stoke as Adam Davies kicked a penalty either side of Freddie Gleadowe’s try which Davies converted, which gave the visitors a 18-5 advantage at the break.

‘Stoke were reduced to 14 men on 40 minutes, as Chris Kiernan was yellow card for not rolling away and in the second-half Karl Buttle was also yellow carded.

The visitors also lost Fish at the break due to injury so Gavin Dampies took over at scrum-half

Just four minutes after re-start the visitors extended their lead as Davies kicked another penalty.

’Stoke’s third score was the try of the game as Andy Hore intercepted a pass at the half-way line and ran all the way back to score. Davies added the extras to make it 28-5.

As the game entered the final 10 minutes, Barking scored their second try of the game to narrow the lead to 16 points.

However, a great breakaway by Buttle saw him load to Dampies who went over for the bonus point try with a minute left.

Barking then scored a converted try in injury time and Davies then kicked a penalty for 'Stoke to finish the scoring.
