BASINGSTOKE golfer Stuart Archibald finished in a tie for eighth place at the Shaikh Maktoum Dubai Open.
The 29-year-old finished the tournament, on the MENA Tour, on -7, six shots behind winner Zane Scotland.
Archibald played well from tee to green during the opening round but was left to rue a few missed putts as he carded 73 (+1) on the first day.
However, a second round of 69 (-3), which included five birdies, moved Archibald up the leaderboard and he continued his good form in the closing round.
The Worting man bogeyed the first hole but bounced back brilliantly, making six birdies over the course of the day to card a five-under-par round of 67 and claim a share of eighth place.
Archibald is in MENA Tour action again at the moment, taking part in the Ras Al Khaimah Classic, which got under way today.
