ODIHAM tennis ace Ryan Golesworthy won a men’s Grade 3 singles at the Woking Lawn Tennis Club, which is part of the AEGON British Tour FAST4 series.

He had a tough first match, winning the first set on a tie break against Kristofer Johnson on his way to a 5-4, 4-0 victory.

In the quarter finals, Golesworthy cruised to a 4-0, 4-0 victory over Harrison Brown in just over half an hour and in the semi-final beat fellow Berkshire player Callum Rendle 4-0, 4-1.

The final proved a tough encounter against Haruki Omori-Cowie and Golesworthy found himself 2-0 down in the first set, before fighting back to win it 4-2.

The second set followed a similar pattern with Odiham player again coming back from 2-0 down, only to lose in a tie break.

So this meant the title was decided on tie-break with Golesworthy battled back to win it 10-8.

At the Grade 3 men’s doubles tournament held at the David Lloyd Centre in Southampton.

Golesworthy teamed up with Hampshire county player, Liam Hignett and beat Darius Perkins and Zizheng Jin in the final taking the title 4-1, 4-1.
