THREE tennis stars from Sherfield School enjoyed success at the Hampshire and Isle of Wight County Championships.

Dean Kirby-Cooper led the way with four titles, while Liam Hignett enjoyed a double success and Daniel Prickett picked up one title.

Kirby-Cooper, who plays under a tennis scholarship with Totally Tennis won the under-14 singles and doubles, as well as the under-16 singles and doubles.

To win the under-14 singles crown number one seed Kirby-Cooper beat Prickett the fifth seed in the final 6-1, 6-3.

This was after wins over Oliver Webb (6-3, 6-0), Egan Daborn (6-2, 6-3) and Alfie Reynolds (6-1, 6-1).

In the doubles, the Sherfield player teamed up with Portsmouth Tennis Academy’s Reynolds.

The number one seeds won the doubles crown beating second seeds Christopher Adeshina and Owen Martel 4-0, 4-2.

To reach the final the winning pair beat Milo Maclean/Daniel Prickett (4-1, 4-1) and Archie Callagham/Beau Darrer 4-0, 4-0.

In the under-16 singles, Kirby-Cooper was the number two seed and beat Ben Fox 6-2, 6-3 to take his third title.

To reach the final he won games against Harry Feast (6-3, 6-0), Theo Maclean (6-4, 6-0) and William Jones 7-5, 6-2.

In the under-16 doubles Dean Cooper-Kirby teamed up with Reynolds again and the number two seeds beat the top seeds James Ardley and Milan Bharadia 4-1, 4-2 in the final.

This was after a semi-final success over William Jones and James Midgley and Egan Daborn and Jed Voysey.

Hignett won both the under-18 singles beating Ryan Golesworthy in the final, this after wins against Zizheng Jin and Milan Bharadia .

In the doubles Hignett teamed up with Jake Norris and they won the title after victories against Golesworthy and James Blair as well as James Ardley and Bharadia.

Prickett was the under-12 champion winning every game in straight sets as he beat Jack Curtis, Owen Martel, Bill Eales and Rory Nordstrom.
