OLD BASING Archers will be making club history on Sunday when they hold their first ever indoor tournament on Sunday.

This will take place at the Hampshire Court Hotel.

The club will be taking over the indoor tennis courts at the centre for the event.

More than 90 archers from some 25 clubs will be shooting three rounds in the day long event.

A fun five dozen Vegas to start followed by two five dozen rounds over 25 and 18 yards.

Both these will be World Record Status, the first time Old Basing Archers has organised a shoot at such a level and as such is attracting some of the country’s top archers.

The archers will be shooting mainly the Olympic recurve and compound bows.

The shoot starts at 9am and it is expected to conclude by 5pm.

The club is going from strength to strength and last year they held their first UK Record Status shoot at their home venue of the Old Basing Recreation Ground in September.

This was called the Siege Shoot and top shooters from right across the country came to the village to compete.

This was after a successful pilot event at the same place five months earlier called the St George’s Shoot.

Anyone wishing to join the club or get involved can find more details at the club’s website which is oldbasingarchers.co.uk
