THE normally unflappable Mickey Joyce admitted he was “shaking” on his international snooker debut.
The Basingstoke teenager Joyce earned a call-up to the England Under-16 B side by finished runner-up on the EASB Regional Junior Tour South.
The 13-year-old won the last of his four matches at the home international in Leeds.
He lost 3-0 to Sean Devenney (Republic of Ireland), 3-0 to Callum Matthews (Wales) and 2-1 to Robbie McGuigan (Northern Ireland), but finished with a 2-1 victory over Julien Leclercq (Belgium).
“I was shaking,” said Joyce. “But by the last match, I was getting into it.
Joyce added: “It was a good experience.”
England B ended the three-day event at the Northern Snooker Centre third out of the six teams. Wales won the title by two frames from England A.
Joyce is sponsored by Falcon Pools and The Academy, Basingstoke.
