KENNET Osprey took themselves to Willow Park middle lake last Sunday, where Steve Shepherd won the match with 38lb 12oz of bream on pole and corn.

In form Bartosz Recki made second spot his with 36lb of bream caught on pole and pellet.

Simon (the god) Kiefer put 34lb 8oz of bream on the scales using pole and pellet, whilst evergreen Pat Hollies caught four carp on bomb and meat to weigh in 31lb 12oz. All 20 fished and caught.

Adventure AS went to Timsbury Manor last Sunday where Mick Fordham won with ease, bagging 234lb of carp on pole and paste, Mike Allen used pole and pellet for his 159lb 8oz of carp.

Steve Hunt’s 152lb 4oz was a pole and corn affair whilst Mark Blackmon employed the same tactics for his 128lb of carp. All fifteen anglers weighed.

Camrose AC went to Cheriton Farm last Sunday and Stacey's supremo Keith Brown put in a solid performance to win with 91lb 12oz of carp on pole and maggot (what else), Brian Orchard used eight mm pellets under the pole for his 83lb 4oz, Daniel Butler fished the pole at seventeen metres and close in on meat for his 79lb 10oz whilst Bill Atkinson caught 73lb 12oz for fourth spot. Thirteen fished and caught.

The Tony Skeats/Dave Powell Memorial match took place at New Barlows lake last Saturday, Bartosz Recki won for the second year running with 41lb 8oz of carp, Keith Brown was runner up on 31lb 15oz of mixed, whilst Maurice (the large) Parsons weighed in 29lb 12oz.

Of the fifteen anglers invited only 10 could be bothered to participate, and the usual gathering of friends and relations for the after match barbecue was down in numbers.

Tony and Dave were founder members of Kennet Ospreys and their contribution to the club was second to none. I hope those so called friends and relatives who didn’t show up on Saturday will reflect on the fact that Staceys Angling Club supplied the venue, and Keith Brown supplied all the food and drinks FOC.

The anglers donated all their winnings to a charity of Joyce Skeats choosing and all you had to do was turn up.

Catch me next week.
