THERE were a number of close matches in the Whitchurch Bowls League this week, with Littleton Leopards holding on to top spot by beating Marnell Blues 54-41.
Oakley A gave Howard Park A a thrashing, winning 60-42 to move into second place, ahead of Kingsclere, who could only draw 45-45 with Basingstoke Town Spades.
St Mary Bourne Hawks beat Hyde Abbey A 56-36 and Whitchurch Yellows beat Andover B 55-53.
Whitchurch Blacks beat Andover A 68-37 and take over as leaders of Division Two. Old Basing Cavaliers are third, leapfrogging Town Diamonds, who they beat 58-45.
Hook Hares beat Alton 46-42 and Alton Social won 61-50 away at Oakley B.
Hyde Abbey B stay top of Division Three despite losing 49-44 at home to Hook Foxes.
Andover C are second after beating Kingsclere Partridges 50-47. Littleton Lemurs beat Friary 54-36 and Oakley C beat Town Jokers 54-43.
The Division Four leaders are Marnell Greens, who beat Thornycroft 48-40. Old Basing Roundheads are second, but they could only draw 49-49 with Oakley D.
Whitchurch Blues beat Howard Park B 52-51 and are third. The other match played saw Old Basing Royalists beat Kingsclere Pheasants 54-34.
In the semi-finals of the Hants and Berks Cup, Kingsclere will play Whitchurch and Town will play Alton Social.
