ANOTHER crazy week in Whitchurch League Division One saw leaders Kingsclere Quails knocked off the top as they lost 71-36 to Oakley A.

Littleton Leopards took over at the summit after they maintained their strong start to the season with a 58-32 win over Whitchurch Yellows.

The remaining results in the division saw Howard Park A lose 52-42 at Andover B, while Marnell Blues beat St Mary Bourne Hawks 61-40 and Basingstoke Town’s Spades were victorious over Hyde Abbey A (76-41).

Andover A, Town’s Diamonds and Whitchurch Blacks are scrapping it out for the Division Two title after Andover beat Alton Social 61-45 and the Blacks lost 54-37 to Alton.

The other result in the division saw Oakley B beat Old Basing Cavaliers 52-44.

Hyde Abbey B head Division Three after beating Kingsclere Partridges 60-38, while second-placed Andover C lost at Howard Park C (60-43).

Hook Foxes beat Friary 53-50, while Town’s Jokers went fourth after a 56-38 success over Littleton Lemurs.

Marnell Greens are third in Division Four after a comprehensive 77-31 win over St Mary Bourne Merlins.

Howard Park B beat Old Basing Royalists 52-48 and Kingsclere Pheasants beat Thornycroft 43-35.

The first round of the Hants and Berks Cup competition was played last Friday, with both AWRE and Howard Park having to forfeit.

In the other first round games, Kingsclere beat Oakley, Whitchurch were successful against Thornycroft, Old Basing overcame Alton, Marnell were victorious over Hook and Alton Social beat Andover.

Last weekend, Loddon Vale drew a friendly against Chawton Park 93-93 last weekend.

The winning rinks were John Holmes (23-9), Graham Jordan (16-10), Vasl Smailes (17-13) and Ian Laming (16-15). The losing rinks were Sheila Girle (24-13) and Steve Devonish (22-8).
