WINKLEBURY snooker whizzkid Mickey Joyce was beaten by a former England junior international in his latest contest.
The 11-year-old, whose highest break is 73, went down 2-0 to Adam Stacey in the semi-finals of the 16-man scratch event at Frames Sports Bar, Coulsdon.
Joyce, who is sponsored by The Academy in Basingstoke and Surrey-based Falcon Pools, had not lost a frame in the tournament until he faced Stacey.
In the group stages, Joyce accounted for Connor Whitbread, Oliver Cooper and Kean O’Donovan – all with 3-0 scorelines – and he then saw off Jackson Song 2-0 in the last eight.
The previous day, Joyce had continued his relentless march towards a third Eastleigh and District under-19 Premier title.
He extended his lead to 13 points during an event held at Chandler’s Ford Snooker Club.
