BASINGSTOKE Bluefins annual New Year Open Meet saw swimmers from 23 visiting clubs join the host club.

The home swimmers enjoyed huge success, winning loads of medals.

Top performances included Amelia Trist with six gold medals, while Chloe Garlinge collected five and James Todd secured four.

There was a hat-trick of golds for Isla Haynes, while Alexander Heath, Eloise L’Hereux, Charlyne Lebosse and Tom Bryce all picked-up two each.

Aemilia Rugman produced a new club record for 13-year-old girls’ 100metres breaststroke.

The Bluefins have also held their annual awards evening to celebrate the success of all the swimmers through the year and awarded trophies and certificates for the club championships and merit awards for performances throughout the year.

The age group awards included the Sharks winner Scott Howe, while top male swimmer was Adam Milne and the top female award went to Mairead Barker.

The club champions and their age group were as follows: Grace Cox (girls under-nine), Harrison Cleaver (boys under-nine), Isla Haynes (girls 10), Tom Bryce (boys 10), Ameila Trist (girls 11), Kieran Parker (boys 11), Julia Lebosse (girls 12), James Trodd (boys 12), Molly Goffin (girls 13), Alfie Evans (boys 13), Mairead Barker (girls 14), Finlay Evans (boys 14), Hayleigh Kendell (girls 15), Harrison Cross (boys 15). Rebecca Smith (girls 16), Luke Sawyer (boys 16), Daisy Moore (girls 17 and 18), Adam Milne (boys 17 and 18), Fleur Parker (girls 19 and over), Spencer Turner (boys 19 and over).
