AFTER a bad end to 2014, Loddon Vale Indoor Bowls club’s fortunes improved at the start of the new year with a 90-59 victory over Oxford and District in the Wessex.
They took 14 points from the match to keep them in third place, behind West Berks and Carterton.
The weekend friendly against Hawley also saw a Vale victory, 157-100, but as Hawley is an outdoor club, the score was not unexpected.
The winning rinks were skipped by Jim Rainbow (30-6), June Harvie (24-10), Fuller (17-10), John Licence (20-13) Steve Devonish (22-15) and Arthur Peters (18-14). The only losing rink was Margaret Coutts (19-9).
