Loddon Vale suffer trophy defeat
LODDON Vale Indoor Bowling Club lost 97-81 against Five Rivers in the Trisham Trophy.
Only John Holmes’ rink managed a win (25-17). The losing rinks were Trevor Morgan (23-18), Colin Roberts (30-18) and Ray Harris (27-20). The loss leaves Vale bottom of the five-club league.
Vale lost 109-88 to Chawton Park in a friendly. The rinks of Brian Roberts and Brian Ambler both won 20-13, while Graham Bennett just snatched victory, winning 12-11.
The losing rinks were Arthur Peters (25-17), Fred Goddard (31-4) and Sheila Girle (16-15).
The match against Banbury in the Wessex League saw Vale take 12 points with a 71-65 win, which kept them in third place.
