HARTLEY Wintney extended their lead at the top of the Combined Counties League Premier Division table to seven points after they beat visiting Windsor 1-0.

Sam Argent scored the winner on the 70 minute mark as the ball bounced up in the penalty area and he managed to gain some power thrusting forward that put the ball past the goalkeeper.

After the game, joint manager Daniel Brownlie said after the game: 'Windsor were almost unrecognisable to the team we beat less than a month ago, they resorted to lumping the ball forward at any given opportunity.

"We made them change their approach, so we can take positives from that. Fortunately for us, we dealt with everything they through at us and Sam Argent came up with the winner with a wonderfully timed header. A very good result in horrible conditions."

Hartley are in league action again tonight at home to Chertsey, before they travel to Colliers Wood United in the FA Vase on Saturday.
