AFC Aldermaston sit second in the Thames Valley Premier League table, despite losing 5-3 at home to Newbury on Saturday.
Aldermaston moved up to second with a 1-0 win over local rivals Mortimer last Wednesday, Kai Parton-Edey scoring the only goal of the game.
However, they were unable to continue their winning run at the weekend, suffering their first defeat of the season at home to Newbury.
Parton-Edey scored two more goals and Liam Tackley also found the net, but Newbury ran out winners in a high-scoring affair.
Despite the defeat, Aldermaston remain second in the table, three points behind leaders Reading YMCA, who visit the RecSoc on Saturday.
