TADLEY Calleva A are now the only club that can catch Basingstoke and District Saturday League Division One leaders Hook.

Their hopes were dented on Saturday, as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Overton United A at Barlow’s Park. Tadley looked well in control and took the lead when Liam Belcher took advantage of a mistake at the back.

The home side continued to dominate, but the visitors snatched a late equaliser six minutes from time from Sami Aldoori.

Sherborne St John could not raise a team to play DJS Telecoms, and it is understood they are pulling out of the league next season, so players do lose interest.

Tron picked up three more very important points last Wednesday evening in Division Two, as they beat Herriard Sports 6-3.

Their opponents were one of the challengers for the title, but on the night they were second best.

They were 3-0 down in the opening eight minutes, thanks to Ben Nicholls (2) and Zac Reynolds.

Richard Kalwarczyk soon added another and then Nicholls completed his hat trick.

Herriard pulled a goal from Martin Miles, but Nicholls' fourth made it 6-1, before Miles completed his hat-trick for Herriard.

On Saturday, due to injuries Herriard were unable to raise a side to play Bounty United, who will be awarded the three points and head the division by a point.

Second placed Basingstoke United won at Overton United B 5-1, as Tom Hartley scored a hat-trick and their were singles from Callum Silcox and Jamie Lucas. Overton's reply came from Brodie Good.

Tron are still well on track for the title and won 6-1 victory over AFC Aldermaston A, who were in the game until reduced to 10 men after Craig Porter had to go off injured and took the lead from Kevin Flain.

Tron hit back as Lorne Howard, Jamie Ballantyne, Finlay Hall and Richard McCoubrie.

Numerous saves from Aldermaston's goalkeeper Gary Bone stopped an onslaught, but he was beaten again by a firm header from Dawber.

Bottom of the table AFC Berg picked up only their third win after a surprising 3-1 victory against Winklebury Wizards.

Kieran Alleyne opened the scoring for Berg after 55 minutes and Shane West added number two.

Adam Bartlett hit back for the Wizards, before Alleyne scored his second of the game, before he was sent off for violent conduct.
