SHERBORNE St John booked their place in the last eight of the North Hants May Cup after they beat visiting Basingstoke Labour Club in a nine-goal thriller.

Cameron George gave Labour the lead before Sherborne drew level from Luke Morgan and then Sachin Rai made it 3-1 to the home side by half-time.

After the break, George scored his second, but the two goal advantage for Sherborne was restored by Makum Limbu.

Matt Kelly and Labour sub Sam Gook then scored which made it 4-4 with four minutes left.

The Sherborne winner came in the second minute of added on time from the head of centre back Tom Brickley as they won 5-4.

Tron FC proved much too strong for Basingstoke Athletic Reserves winning 12-1, after scoring seven times in the first 45 minutes.

Tron’s Zac Reynolds, normally a full back, scored five as a striker as he replaced the suspended Ben Nicholls.

Richard Kalwarczyk netted a hat-trick, Jamie Ballantyne a brace and there were single goal from Sam Nicholls and Joe Harris. Athletic’s lone strike came from Ryan Cousins.

Basingstoke United lost 2-1 to South Wonston Swifts after Joe Cook gave them the lead.

Bounty United are through to the semi-finals of the Basingstoke B Cup after an easy 7-2 win against visiting Winklebury Wizards.

They led 3-0 by the break as Matt King scored either side of a Steve Bucksey strike.

Further goals after the interval, came from Andy Darmody twice and Mitch Stokes who converted a penalty after Mike Gilham was fouled.

Wizards, then scored two quick goals through Dom Stevens and Connor Stratton, before Bounty sub Matt Love scored a seventh.
