WET weather put paid to a number of football matches involving north Hampshire sides due to take place on Saturday.
Whitchurch United’s home game against Verwood in the Wessex Premier League and Tadley Calleva’s match against visiting Pewsey Vale in Division One were both rained off.
Whitchurch sit fourth in the table heading into an away game at mid-table Hamworthy United on Saturday. Next Tuesday, they travel to second-placed Petersfield Town for a top-of-the-table clash. Tadley remain top of the division ahead of a trip to United Services Portsmouth on Saturday.
AFC Aldermaston’s game was also rained off, with the visit of Sandhurst Devels falling victim to the weather. They lie 10th in the table ahead of a home game against Taplow United on Saturday.
The Basingstoke and District Saturday League programme also took a hit, with just one of the scheduled games surviving.
