BOUNTY United returned to the top of Basingstoke and District Saturday League Division Two with a 7-0 victory over lowly Sherborne St John.

Phil Case opened the scoring from Craig Williamson’s pass early on, Matt Love doubled the lead and Mitchell Stokes extended the advantage to 3-0. Love then stole the show, scoring a further four goals to take his tally for the day to five.

Basingstoke Labour Club won 2-1 against Basingstoke United, who hit the post four times during the game.

Labour opened the scoring through Cameron George after 20 minutes but United’s James Lucas levelled on the hour. However, it was Labour’s Matt Kelly who found a winner in the closing stages.

Winklebury Wizards were able to extend their unbeaten run with a 6-2 victory over bottom side AFC Berg.

The strugglers took an early lead through Matt Goodman and while Ben Clarke soon levelled the game, Kieran Allayne put Berg back in front before half-time.

Darren Gilbanks pulled Winklebury level early in the second half and they never looked back, with Clarke, Ryan Watts, a spectacular Scotty Winterbourne overhead kick and Austin Kelly’s free-kick giving the Wizards another win.

AFC Aldermaston A fought back from three goals down to beat Herriard Sports 5-4.

Sam Weber, Craig Lewington and Michael Higgs had Herriard in a commanding position, but strikes from Adam Barfoot and Kevin Flain reduced the deficit to a single goal at the break.

Weber’s second made it 4-2, but goals from James Tomlinson, Bob Thandi and Jon Rooney saw Aldermaston steal all three points.

Preston Candover were comfortable 7-1 winners at Overton United B. The hosts went ahead through Matt Bonner, but Candover then took over. Michael Fuller soon equalised and Kye Buckland and Joe Tomlinson both hit hat-tricks as the visitors showed their class.

Welly Old Boys continue to struggle in the Premier Division, their latest defeat being a 19-0 reverse at the hands of Tadley Calleva A. Stephen Burgess scored six for Tadley, with Kyle Theodore getting five and Gary Hibbs also getting a hat-trick.

DJS are just two points behind Division One leaders Overton United A after beating North Warnborough 2014 10-1. Nick Saunders found the net five times, Lee Neal hit a hat-trick and Ashley Elward bagged a brace. Jason Williams got Warnborough’s only goal from the penalty spot.
