SIX teams from the Basingstoke and District Sunday League entered the Hampshire Junior A Cup, but just one of them remains in the competition after the first round.

New Inn beat visiting Edstreme Athletic 2-0 to progress, but the four other Basingstoke teams suffered defeat, while Hampshire Irons conceded their scheduled tie at Ensbury Park Rangers.

North Warnborough Two trailed 5-0 at half-time in their game against Bridgemary Eagles, going on to lose 6-1, while UWS were beaten 3-1 by visiting FC Boca.

Basing United lost 5-2 away at Andover Saints, while Eastrop Eagles were beaten 3-1 away at Bluebirds.

Oakley suffered a similar fate in the Intermediate Cup, losing 7-0 away at West Farnborough.

Lamb Inn’s unbeaten run in Basingstoke and District Sunday League Division One continued as they beat visiting Kaiser Wessex 7-0.

Ashley Elwood hit a hat-trick, with Carlos Gonzalez, Lee Neal, Danny Dedman and Terry Carr also finding the net for the high-flyers, writes TONY SPENCER.

Republic of Chineham extended their unbeaten run to three games with a 2-0 victory at Soldiers Return. Alex Pickering scored a penalty to put the visitors ahead at the break and Lewis Harris doubled the lead 10 minutes from time.

Basingstoke Saints were 5-0 up at half-time against South View, going on to win 6-1. Liam James bagged a hat-trick, Adam Butler scored two free-kicks and Jamie O’Toole also got on the scoresheet for Saints, while South View goalkeeper Sean O’Brien netted their only goal from a late corner.

Tron are unbeaten in three after coming from behind to beat visiting Dayer’s Fine Foods 4-3.

Charlie Palmer opened the scoring for Tron and while Dave Lee’s brace had Dayer’s ahead, Dave Parry levelled before half-time. Gareth Richards put Dayer’s back in front, but Palmer completed his hat-trick late on to give Tron the win.

Ollie Owen hit a hat-trick as Chineham Athletic beat hosts AFC Golden Lion 7-0 in Division Three. Ben Owen and Tom Langley also bagged a brace each.

Goals from Kyle Buckland, Jimmy Buckland and Mark Johnson saw Chineham Reserves beat DG Athletic 3-0.
