HOOK have been crowned Basingstoke and District Saturday League Division One champions after Hampshire Irons could not raise a team on Saturday.

Four days earlier they picked up three points with a 4-2 home win over DJS Telecoms.

Tom Davies opened the scoring from the penalty spot after he was fouled. His initial kick was saved by Ash Elward, who normally plays as a striker, but Davies netted the rebound.

DJS levelled through Graham Dwyer, but Andy Haig regained Hook’s lead, before Iain McFee and Davies completed the win.

Tadley Calleva A now look in prime position for second spot after they boosted the goal difference over third placed Sherborne St John by beating Labour Club 7-0.

The Labour manager Dan Poulter felt the big score line flattered the opposition and a bad ten minute spell when they conceded four goals was their downfall.

It took Tadley 25 minute to break down the Labour defence and they then conceded four in 10 minutes.

Kye Theodore with a hat-trick led the scoring, with the other four goals coming from Luke Allison, Liam Belcher, Simon Penfold and an own goal.

Twenty Ten also rattled in the goals against 10 men Basingstoke Athletic running off 7-1 winners.

Two quick goals from Franklin Spacagna early on and by half-time Carl Pearson and Adam Elesgood made it 4-0.

Dale Bristow scored for Athletic on the hour, but two from Jake Tanner and a solo for Joe Osborne ended the rout.
