AFC Aldermaston claimed a narrow win over struggling Sandhurst Devels to ensure a top-five finish at the end of their first season in the Thames Valley Premier League.

The game was due to be an away fixture for Aldermaston, but Sandhurst's pitch was unavailable, so it was switched to the Rec Soc.

Chris Allen got the only goal of the game, giving Aldermaston a win that means they will finish fifth in the table no matter how they fare in their final league game of the season at home to champions Marlow United on Saturday.

Both sides may choose to rest players, with the sides due to meet again in the final of the Berkshire Trophy Centre Senior Cup at the Madejski Stadium next Tuesday.
